Tess of the D'Urbervilles - filmography part 1

Tess of the D'Urbervilles is a 4-hour BBC television adaptation of Thomas Hardy's book of the same name. The script is by David Nicholls. Nicholls worked closely with director David Blair to ensure the visual style of the series complimented his faithful adaptation of the story. (WIKIPEDIA)
The story of Tess Durbeyfield, a low-born country girl whose family find they have noble connections. (IMDB)

Eddie plays one of the main characters, Angel Clare.

I collected images to the post and found so many good unmissable pictures, that I decided to publish them in several parts. The first post contains the main informations, videos, Eddie Redmayne quotes and the images of the first episode. I will publish the other pictures per episodes with a short description. At the end of the posts I will indicate links to the other parts as soon as I published those.

My Youtube video playlist: Trailer, making of videos with interviews (the first making of video contains the Eddie Redmayne interviews from the second long video) and in the end of the list are fanmade music videos.

Eddie Redmayne About roles he enjoys playing: "The hypocrisies or the indulgencies of people with too much wealth or too much time, or moral hypocrisies like Tess [Tess of the D'Urbervilles], are things that I've done on film and been fascinated with." ( x )

Quotes from the BBC interview ( x )
"I had a stronger emotional attachment to this script than anything else I've ever read. I started reading the scripts and finished all of them within three hours.
"The character of Angel is liberal, a little bit out there for his time. He works at the Talbothay's dairy farm, to get some practical experience of agriculture as he hopes to buy a farm one day, rather than follow in his father's footsteps as a clergyman."
"When Angel is really tested, on their honeymoon night, Tess reveals she is not a virgin, he proves he's not at all liberal and can't forgive her. It shows, when confronted with reality, he reacts completely differently."
